25 Woolly Mammoth Springtails (Orchesella villosa) Chicago, IL Locality
One of the giants of the springtail hobby, this species is huge in springtail terms and relatively fast breeding. This is the Chicago, Illinois locale and while there is no difference in appearance or behavior between this and the other locales in the hobby a distinction between localities should still be maintained within the hobby.

Orchesella villosa are a great species to showcase in a terrarium but not a great standalone cleanup crew. You can couple them with Lepidocyrtus and Arrhopalites caecus in moderate humidity enclosures. See the Cleanup Crew Guides for more information: www.springtails.us/cleanup-crew-guides
-
Culture Orchesella villosa on soil with high ventilation. Feed yeast or Springtails US springtail food mixes. See the Care Guides for more information: www.springtails.us/care-guides
