This species is known for being found in ant nests, acting as their personal cleanup crew. They prefer life below ground. This Springtails US line was collected in Illinois and kept pure from other hobby lines.

This line was originally collected by Springtails US from an Illinois forest floor, has been introduced by other collectors as well but we have kept our line pure. Common in soil environments, typically subterranean, and ant nests. Range/distribution nearctic.
