Porcellio laevis “Caramel” are an excellent isopod for beginners! Very fast breeding, tolerant of many environments, and forgiving of mistakes. They are very protein hungry though so are not recommended as cleanup crew for small or soft animals. In culture we recommend weekly feeding of a protein source such as fish food or freeze dried minnows. Caramel is a morph of P. laevis presenting mostly brown tones between orange and wild type gray.
