Product Details

A truly arid springtail, they prefer dry ground. Very common in cities and often the first species to colonize freshly disturbed soils. One of the few springtails out in the midst of summer.

-

Entomobrya unostrigata is the best cleanup crew springtail for dry or low humidity enclosures. They have a great appetite and reproduce very fast. They will still require access to a permanently moist area for egg laying and moisture regulation, such as sphagnum moss under the water dish. See the Cleanup Crew Guides for more information: www.springtails.us/cleanup-crew-guides

-

Culture Entomobrya unostrigata on soil with a moisture gradient and high ventilation only. Feed yeast, dry rice, or Springtails US springtail food mixes. See the Care Guides for more information: www.springtails.us/care-guides

Ships on damp paper towel. See the "Springtail Shipping Methods" section on the FAQ page to learn why I use paper towel and how to transfer them to a culture.

-

This line was originally collected in Utah and is not the same line as the one previously sold at Springtails US. Very common in areas of human development. Range/distribution global.

Packaged thoughtfully, and as far as I could tell they were ALL alive. I was worried since they were stuck in transit for nearly a week but was pleasantly surprised to discover everything alive and well. It’s my first time purchasing from this site, and if I ever need anything else I’ll for sure come back here. Really appreciated the care guides, had a lot of helpful information on which kinds to get for my arid bioactive.
